A well-established Tampa law firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney to join its dynamic litigation team. The ideal candidate will have experience defending insurers and insureds in personal injury, property damage, and general liability matters. This position offers the opportunity to handle complex cases in a supportive, team-oriented environment with a firm known for its strong trial experience and commitment to client service.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing
• 3+ years of experience in insurance defense or civil litigation
• Strong knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and trial practice
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Experience handling discovery, depositions, mediations, and court appearances
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases independently
• Strong organizational and communication skills with a client-focused approach

Responsibilities

• Represent insurers and insureds in all phases of insurance defense litigation
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
• Prepare cases for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial
• Develop and implement effective litigation and defense strategies
• Evaluate case exposure, negotiate settlements, and provide strategic advice to clients
• Maintain regular communication with clients, claims representatives, and opposing counsel
