Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
A full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist opportunity is available at a 404-bed Joint Commission-accredited hospital in Kissimmee, Florida. This facility provides a wide range of advanced services, including Emergency Care, Trauma Care, a Pediatric ER, Heart & Vascular Institute, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level II NICU, and a Graduate Medical Education Program. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced respiratory professional seeking exposure to a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment.
The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering both routine and complex respiratory care services across all patient populations. This includes the setup, operation, and management of mechanical ventilators for short- and long-term ventilation support, along with the administration of prescribed respiratory therapies. The role requires strong independent judgment, especially when working without direct supervision, and the ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation within hospital systems. Collaboration with physicians and care teams is essential to ensure safe, effective respiratory care.
Responsibilities:
Set up and administer routine and advanced respiratory therapy treatments.
Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators for acute care patients.
Provide respiratory care across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations.
Assess patient response to therapy and adjust care as appropriate.
Maintain accurate documentation in hospital information systems.
Work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment when needed.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of Registered Respiratory Therapist experience required.
Completion of a two-year AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associate degree or equivalent) required.
Current NBRC credential and Florida State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license required.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required within 60 days of hire.
Strong critical care skills and ability to function independently in a high-acuity environment.
