Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A part-time virtual Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist position is available to support a 3rd-grade student in an elementary school setting. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction and support through remote learning, ensuring the students academic and municative needs are effectively addressed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized virtual instruction and support tailored to the needs of a Deaf/Hard of Hearing student.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and materials.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Utilize appropriate assistive technologies and munication methods.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to student performance and services.
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Experience working with elementary-age students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Strong knowledge of munication strategies, assistive technologies, and educational techniques tailored for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners.
- Ability to work effectively in a virtual learning environment.
- Excellent munication and collaboration skills.
Location: Virtual support aligned with an elementary school setting in Port Saint Joe, FL.
Job Details:
- Part-time, virtual position.
- Caseload: 1 third-grade student.
- Hours: 5 hours total per week (1 hour per day, Monday through Friday).
- Contract duration: Immediate start through May 21, 2026.
