Payroll and Accounting Generalist:
Accounting Generalist is a member of the Payroll and Accounting department whose primary responsibilities are processing bi-weekly Payroll and assist with accounts payable data entry, filing, review daily cash deposits and report any discrepancies. The Accounting Generalist will need to balance time and tasks between the two departments.
Payroll Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Point of contact for time and attendance and payroll.
- Review Payroll first day of new payroll for last payroll and submit any needed documentation to GM for pending time edits.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll by editing and reviewing timesheets, calculating wages, and making necessary adjustments.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Payroll transmittal balancing and reports using ADP and Excel.
- Maintain confidential payroll records and documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Handle payroll inquiries from employees regarding pay, deductions, and tax-related matters.
- Research and resolve time punch or editing variances or errors.
- ADP Data entry of personnel transactions such as new hire, status change, time edits, time reports, tips, secret shop bonuses, GM bonuses, transfers, leave of absence, benefits deductions, and terminations.
- New Hire paperwork audit: I-9 supportive documents, direct deposit, all forms signed and social security card received and entered accurately.
- Communicate via email to GM and cc HR Director for any missing information of the NH/RH packet.
- New Hire audit both in Crunchtime and ADP systems to ensure data integrity.
- Evaluate, set-up and maintain garnishments, child support, liens, etc.
- Run background check reports on Managers in Training and submit reports to HR Director for review.
- Set up Direct deposit or Wiseley deposit with accurate pre-printed documentation.
- Create and maintain file folders for employees (Active and Terminated files), file records in alphabetical order, find and retrieve information from files in response to requests from authorized users.
Accounting Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review Daily Cash and Safe logs against Till reports for completeness and report any discrepancies.
- Assists payroll and accounting management with clerical tasks in relation to accounting and payroll including filing, data entry, record review, scanning documents, mailing checking and maintenance, etc.
- Operate technology, systems, and software such as voicemail systems, copy/scanners, personal computers, MS Office, ADP Workforce Now.
Experience and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Microsoft Intermediate level, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong data entry (keyboard and number pad)
- 3+ years Payroll experience, ADP Workforce Now- Multi-state payroll tax experience required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 10:00 am -4:00pm (1 hour lunch). Schedule is to be adhered to unless otherwise told differently by owners.
