Residential/Light Commercial Structural Engineer - PE or EI
Our client is seeking a Florida PE or EI Structural Engineer to lead and certify residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wood and masonry structures, framing systems, and foundation design, and will coordinate with clients and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time and under budget. Job Responsibilities:
- Lead structural design and certification for residential and commercial projects from conceptual through final stages.
- Prepare calculations and structural details for commercial projects.
- Draft project plans using AutoCAD; Revit experience a plus.
- Provide construction support, including RFIs, submittal reviews, job site visits, and design reviews.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Maintain strong relationships with project owners and engineers to ensure progress and positive company representation.
- Manage staff, delegate tasks, and perform quality assurance reviews.
- Read, interpret, and apply engineering specifications, drawings, and contracts.
- Florida PE or EI License with 3–5+ years of structural engineering experience in wood and masonry structures.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, RISA 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite; Revit is a plus.
- Knowledge of Florida and International Building Codes, concrete construction (up to three stories), foundations (shallow and deep), steel, wood, and masonry structures.
- Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage technical challenges.
- Demonstrated leadership, reliability, and teamwork skills.
