Director of Resolutions (Collections)

Role : The Director of Resolutions plays a crucial role in preserving the credit union's assets by providing strategic leadership for the Resolutions team. The ideal incumbent will possess vast knowledge of credit and lending processes, metrics tracking/dashboard creation, strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a proven track record of successfully managing delinquent accounts, Real Estate Owned (REO) properties, and repossessions. Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Provides strategic direction and oversight for the Resolutions department, ensuring delinquent accounts are managed appropriately to minimize losses while maintaining strong member relationships. Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance collection, repossession, and REO processes, while optimizing resource utilization, and improving overall efficiency.
• Creates and analyzes metrics regularly generating reports detailing the status of delinquent accounts, collections, efforts, recovery rates repossession actions, and REO inventory. Collaborate with and present findings to management team.
• Oversees all collection, repossession, and REO activities ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and guidelines, as well as internal credit union policies. Stay updated on changes in regulations that may impact these processes.
• Reviews personnel action, guides department leadership in handling HR related matters, and develops staff through coaching.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills: Experience Five years to eight years of similar or related experience. Required two years minimum in a supervisory role. Education A bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience. Interpersonal Skills Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. Other Skills Must have good communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office and Meridian Link Express Collect required. Physical Requirements Ability to hear and speak to enable effective communication with members, staff and management, ability to focus on computer screen for extended periods of time, and ability to sit for extended periods of time. Work Environment Traditional Office setting.
