Senior Mechanical Engineer - Plastics Manufacturing

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineer IV to join our dynamic team in Orlando, FL . In this critical role, you will lead major capital projects, drive manufacturing improvements, and support plant maintenance excellence across multiple facilities. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead large- and small-scale engineering projects independently.
• Serve as the project manager for capital improvement initiatives, overseeing budgets, timelines, technical performance, and vendor relations.
• Support the implementation of maintenance excellence programs at all plant locations.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the company's manufacturing processes, equipment, and products.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment upgrades, and system improvements.
• Collaborate with plant leadership to assess maintenance team skill gaps and assist in technician evaluations and hiring processes.
• Ensure capital project spending stays within approved limits.
• Travel as needed to support project or plant needs (may include weekends or extended hours).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Plastics preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering , with a strong background in plastics processing , especially injection molding and profile extrusion .
• Proven hands-on experience with injection mold setup, processing, and troubleshooting .
• Solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, electrical, and automation systems .
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite , CAD software , and project management tools .
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Previous project management experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
