Software Engineer with DevOps
DevOps Software Engineer | Kubernetes & Cloud Infrastructure | TS/SCI Clearance

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-native applications in containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
- Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar automation tools
- Develop and optimize ETL pipelines for efficient data processing and transformation
- Configure and maintain message queuing systems including RabbitMQ and other message brokers
- Write Python scripts to automate infrastructure management, deployment tasks, and operational workflows
- Monitor application performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to establish DevSecOps best practices for deployment and infrastructure
- Modernize legacy systems by refactoring into microservice architectures and containerized solutions
- Implement security scanning, quality assurance, and compliance requirements throughout the software development lifecycle
- Maintain clear technical documentation to ensure system maintainability and knowledge transfer
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- 2-10 years of experience building, deploying, and maintaining production software systems
- Strong proficiency with Linux/Unix operating systems (Rocky, RHEL, CentOS, or similar distributions)
- Advanced programming skills in Python (preferred) or other modern languages such as Java, C, or C++
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
- Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles, security best practices, and compliance requirements
- Proven experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Proficiency with Git version control and collaborative development workflows
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, collaboration skills, and technical communication capabilities
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Active TS (Top Secret) clearance required; TS/SCI clearance strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications & Bonus Skills
Programming & Development:
- Expertise in multiple programming languages and frameworks
- Experience with Python data science libraries (NumPy, pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn)
- Proven track record developing RESTful microservices using FastAPI, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks
Architecture & Modernization:
- Successfully refactored legacy systems into containerized or microservice architectures
- Deep understanding of vertical and horizontal scaling strategies
Data & Messaging:
- Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines for large-scale data processing
- Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar message brokers
- Knowledge of database optimization, administration, and performance tuning
DevOps & CI/CD:
- Experience working in Agile environments using Jira, sprints, and iterative development methodologies
- Proficiency with quality and security scanning tools such as SonarQube, NexusIQ, Trivy, or Snyk
Containers & Kubernetes:
- Experience deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting production applications in Kubernetes clusters
- Skills managing secure container registries and implementing image hardening best practices
Infrastructure & Cloud:
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools including Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
- Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack
Security & Compliance:
- Demonstrated experience applying security best practices and meeting compliance requirements in government environments
Domain & Certifications:
- Previous experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC) mission systems
- Professional certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
Compensation
Annual Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000 USD, commensurate with experience and qualifications
