Senior WordPress Developer
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop custom WordPress themes and templates from scratch based on design mockups or brand guidelines.
- Maintain and enhance existing WordPress websites, ensuring optimal performance, security, and user experience.
- Collaborate with design, content, and marketing teams to implement website features and functionality.
- Optimize websites for speed, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, bugs, or plugin conflicts.
- Implement best practices in coding standards, site architecture, and technical SEO.
- Stay updated with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and technologies.
- 10+ years of professional experience in web development with a focus on WordPress.
- Expert in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.
- Strong experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins.
- Deep understanding of the WordPress core, hooks, filters, and APIs.
- Proficient with page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery) and Gutenberg.
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
- Experience with website optimization tools (e.g., Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix).
- Understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
- Solid grasp of SEO best practices, schema markup, and accessibility standards.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively.
- Experience working for marketing agencies
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and services (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, Stripe).
- Experience with headless WordPress and REST API.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
