Maintenance and Facilities Coordinator (Part-Time)

Position Overview
Cornerstone Learning Community is seeking a reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented Part-Time Maintenance and Facilities Coordinator to help maintain a safe, clean, and fully functional campus environment.
This role is essential to the daily operations of the school and supports the upkeep, safety, and functionality of facilities and grounds. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining high standards, works independently, and responds quickly to the needs of a busy school setting.
Key Responsibilities
The following is a subset of responsibilities and is not inclusive of all duties:
- Oversee daily maintenance and upkeep of campus facilities, classrooms, and grounds
- Evaluate building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, fire safety) and identify repair needs
- Perform minor repairs including filters, basic plumbing fixes, and general campus maintenance
- Support scheduling and completion of preventive maintenance tasks
- Assist with coordinating vendors, contractors, and service providers on campus
- Support solicitation of bids and coordination of repair or upgrade projects
- Assist in maintaining inspection schedules for fire, health, and safety compliance
- Ensure all required inspections are completed and properly documented
- Monitor campus safety systems and report issues promptly
- Support emergency readiness and response for facility-related issues
- Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and maintenance materials
- Communicate facility needs, updates, and progress with administration
- Document maintenance activities, inspections, and repair work
- Ensure confidentiality of school security systems, operations, and emergency protocols
- Follow all school policies regarding safety, access, and operational integrity
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred
- 3–5 years of facilities, maintenance, or building operations experience preferred
- Experience in a school or institutional setting strongly preferred
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire systems, and general building maintenance
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and maintenance schedules
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Certifications (HVAC, OSHA, electrical, etc.) a plus
- CDL is a plus but not required
- Hands-on repair experience (woodwork, plumbing, general maintenance) preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent bending, lifting, stooping, and physical activity
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Visual and hearing ability to ensure safety on campus, especially with children present
