A long-established, highly respected yacht builder and marine service company in Stuart, FL is hiring a Senior Marine Mechanic to support yacht service/refit and/or new-build yacht construction .

Position Overview
This role is ideal for a seasoned marine mechanic who can diagnose, repair, install, and align critical mechanical systems on yachts. Depending on experience and team fit, work may be focused in:
- Service & Refit , and/or
- New Build Yacht Construction
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, repair, install, and align inboard engines, transmissions, and propulsion systems
- Perform shaft, strut, prop, rudder removals/installations and precision alignments
- Install, service, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems (steering, trim tabs, stabilizers, etc.)
- Fit and connect fuel, exhaust, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Install/repair onboard systems including freshwater, greywater, blackwater , and related components
- Replace and service cutlass bearings, seals, marine hardware , and mechanical components
- Perform system checks, troubleshooting, and mechanical adjustments during refit or build phases
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical layouts (especially for new-build work)
- Work cross-functionally with other departments/teams during integration and project completion
- Support safe rigging/lifting operations and mechanical upgrades as needed
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 3+ years of marine mechanic experience with inboard and/or sterndrive systems
- Strong diagnostics and troubleshooting skills across marine mechanical systems
- Experience with propulsion, hydraulics, fuel, and plumbing systems
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced service/refit and/or production build environment
- Ability to work independently with senior-level judgment after brief onboarding
Preferred
- Yacht service, yacht refit/repair, or yacht construction experience
- Experience with seacocks, through-hulls, A/C systems, refrigeration, and onboard mechanical systems
- Strong precision alignment skills and use of measuring/alignment tools
- Ability to read blueprints/schematics and coordinate with electrical/structural teams
Schedule
Schedules may vary by department/team assignment:
- Service/Refit Team: Full-time | Mon–Fri | 8-hour shifts
- New Build Team: Full-time | Mon–Thu | 10-hour shifts
