Backwaiter
Falsetto Hospitality is currently seeking Backwaiters to join our team at Caviar Club!
The Backwaiter works alongside the Captain to deliver an exceptional dining experience while developing the skills and knowledge needed to become a future Captain. This role is responsible for supporting all aspects of service, including serving and refilling water, clearing and resetting tables, maintaining dining room cleanliness, stocking service stations, and anticipating the needs of both guests and the service team.
Specific Tasks- Receive service area assignments at the beginning of each shift.
- Maintain constant communication with the Captain in your assigned section, staying informed of each table's progress throughout the dining experience.
- Promptly greet guests as they are seated and offer bottled or still water when appropriate.
- Refill water glasses proactively throughout service.
- Perform serving, cleaning, and stocking duties to support exceptional guest service.
- Inform the Captain of any guest questions, requests, or concerns.
- Set tables with the proper mise en place, clean glassware, and polished tableware according to restaurant standards.
- Clear tables after guests depart, wipe tables and chairs with approved sanitizing products, and clean the floor under and around each table. Always use a tray when clearing tables.
- Remove used dishes, silverware, and glassware between courses, replacing them with clean table settings as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of tables throughout the guest experience.
- Scrape, sort, and stack dirty dishes according to restaurant standards to minimize breakage.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dish and staging areas.
- Stock service stations and the kitchen with clean glassware, silverware, and tableware throughout service.
- Assist with cleaning spills and safely handling broken glass when necessary.
- Prepare and serve coffee beverages as requested by the Captain.
- Ensure service stations remain fully stocked throughout each shift.
- Assist with polishing glassware, silverware, and tableware as needed.
- Complete all daily opening and closing side work assigned by management.
- Attend all scheduled meetings and training sessions and contribute suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Assist wherever needed to maintain the highest level of guest service.
- Follow all allergy protocols and treat guest allergies with the highest level of care and attention.
- Comply with all safety, sanitation, and handwashing procedures.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance. Caviar Club operates on a six-day-per-week schedule, making dependable attendance essential.
- Lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Safely and effectively operate all necessary tools and equipment.
- Stand and walk for an entire shift.
- Move safely throughout all areas of the restaurant, including stairs and uneven or slippery surfaces.
