Late Stage Collections Specialist

: Purpose: The Mortgage Collector is responsible for bringing accounts into current status, reducing department delinquency, and reducing defaults. Responsibilities:

• Makes outbound and takes inbound telephone calls on all delinquent owners within their respective queues.
• Collects delinquent loan payments on Vacation Club, Sampler and Fee Based Service portfolios.
• Provides excellent customer service to our owners and assist with delinquent Maintenance Fees, reservations and other owner issues as needed.
• Continually works to keep delinquency and defaults low to avoid setting off triggers established by investors/lenders that may have a negative financial impact on the company
• Collects on delinquent loans 10 or more days past due.
• Maintains accurate banking and customer information in LSAMS, Western Union and within other departments in the Company.
• Maintains the ability to work one night shift per week.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 3 years of collection experience.
• Basic collections policies and procedures, Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, working knowledge of MSOffice Suite.
• Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a wide range of people.
• Detail and deadline-oriented with the ability to work accurately and efficiently. High level of phone etiquette with the ability to deal with customers.
• Ability to work independently toward assigned goals.
