Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

The Director of Retail plays a pivotal role in ensuring the profitable management and safe operation of the Sharing Center Thrift Program. This is not just a senior leadership and strategic planning role, but a position that directly impacts our community.
Responsibilities include:
· Create a budget and set sales goals daily, monthly, and annually
· Maintain the stores to ensure that they are fully stocked and the premises are safe and clean
· Marketing store sales through social networks and online platforms.
· Develop staff and volunteers by coaching, counseling, disciplining, monitoring, and praising job results
· Formulate pricing policies by reviewing merchandise on hand, checking competitors' pricing, following sales trends, and authorizing clearance sales
· Organize promotions, displays, and events
· Monitor the status of donations in the Distribution Center. Communicate with staff to ensure the flow of merchandise to limit stagnate goods
· Respond to customer complaints and comments
· Maintain the stability and reputation of the Thrift Program by complying with legal requirements
· Establish relationships within the community and with supporting religious organizations
· Report physical, equipment, and operational needs
· Initiate changes to improve business
· Develop and implement Thrift store, Distribution Center, and driver policies and procedures
· Collaborate with The Sharing Center departments to fulfill our mission of providing and generating revenue to meet the needs of our community
· Monitor staff schedules to ensure adequate staffing to meet customer and donor needs.
. Represent TSC at events and community meetings (Rotary, Chamber, to name a few)
· Other duties as assigned
Time Requirements:
The Director of Retail position is full-time, exempt, salaried, and requires rotational evenings for events and Saturdays. The Sharing Center is closed on Sundays. Typically, the weekly hours run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. with additional hours as needed for reports, and projects. As an exempt leadership role, this is not a 40 hour week position.

· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent organizational skills
· Superior customer service
· Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
· Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Ability to take initiative and problem-solving and decision-making skills
· Budget development and weekly sales figures analysis and projections
· Minimum of four years in managing an employee team
· Retail sales background is required
· Bachelor's Degree in business, sales, marketing, or related field preferred
Salary Requirements: The range is $60,000 to $65,000 depending on skills and experience. The Sharing Center reserves the right to amend the job title based on experience.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. The position includes bending, pushing, and stretching and is very physical. Having a comfort level with tools and warehouse equipment is preferred. Experience driving a box truck is preferred to cover when needed.
Work Environment:
The Sharing Center is on a large campus with multiple retail programs and operations. Walking between departments is required. Standing and walking the retail operation is necessary. The Sharing Center will provide reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
