The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity.

The Agency is responsible for administering the Florida Medicaid program, the licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 healthcare facilities, and empowering consumers through healthcare transparency initiatives.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for mechanical reviews within the Bureau of Plans and Construction, Division of Health Quality Assurance.

This is a highly technical electrical engineering position. Individually, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, this position performs electrical engineering, fire safety plan reviews, and field surveys related to the design, construction, and fire safety of Hospitals, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Ambulatory Surgical Centers, Intermediate Care Facilities for the developmentally disabled, and such other facilities, as directed by the Agency to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and standards for state licensure, federal certification and as required as part of the Certificate of Need (CON) application process.

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

Knowledge of federal and state codes, standards, statutes and rules regarding health care facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in electrical engineering, but candidates with engineering degrees in other specialties with course work and/or relevant work experience will be considered.
