Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Pay: $65,854.46Annually

Position Summary: This position is in the Victim Services Division within the Office of the Attorney General, and may be located in Tallahassee or Orlando.

 

Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering or administrative work.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for four years of the required experience.
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for six years of the required experience.

 

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • A degree in Behavioral Sciences and Human Services
  • At least two years of experience providing direct services to victims of violent crime and/or mass violence
  • Familiar with the principles and techniques of effective crisis intervention.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience with public speaking.
  • Work independently and effectively manage time while completing a variety of tasks.

 

Note: All positions within the Office of the Attorney General require a High School Diploma or equivalent unless otherwise stated in the Minimum Qualifications for the position.

 

The Work You Will Do: This position’s duties include but not limited to the following:

  • Provide management consultant services and assistance to improve administrative/management capabilities and operational procedures related to agency response to mass incidents.
  • Conduct analysis of program operations from administrative and programmatic perspectives and assist with development of recommendations for enhancements, bureau policies and procedures improvements
  • Coordinate administrative, programmatic and operational activities for the Bureau related to responding to mass violence incidents throughout the state.
  • Network and coordinate with various government and not for profit agencies to ensure services are available for victims of mass violence incidents
  • Consult with and make recommendations to Bureau management for program improvements and enhancements
  • Research and assist with the development of practices and initiatives that will enhance services to victims of crime
  • Independently perform on-site analysis of operational problems
  • Formulate or assist in formulating policies which are applicable to bargaining unit employees.
  • Uses independent judgement in responding on behalf of the agency to matters of policy and procedures as authorized by the Bureau Chief
