Transportation Engineer
Location: OrlandoTampa
We are seeking a transportation engineer experienced in traffic operations who has a people-first mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to make a positive impact on our organization and our communities.
Overview
In this role your focus will be on deepening your technical expertise in traffic operations projects for freeway corridors (including managed lanes), interchanges, intersections, and local roadways, and reinforcing those technical skills by training and mentoring others, while also taking on new challenges like task leadership and getting involved in foundational aspects of project management and business development.
Technical Focus
- Help our clients understand the existing and future conditions of subject facilities by analyzing field-collected data using spreadsheet and software models. Tools will include Excel, Synchro, HCS, SIDRA, FREEVAL, and VISSIM
- Develop future traffic projections following agency-specific methodologies and procedures
- Create and screen improvement alternatives, perform traffic operations analysis and macro/micro simulation analysis, and refine conceptual designs
- Document methods and findings in technical reports that are accessible to wide audiences
Core Responsibilities
- Technical proficiency in traffic operations and safety related to the focus areas mentioned above.
- Consultant mindset (e.g., anticipate needs, accurately read audience, creative problem-solving, resourcefulness, etc.).
- Highly effective time prioritization.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients/teaming partners/industry professionals.
- Deliver meaningful feedback and mentorship for career growth.
Qualifications
- 3-8 years of experience related to technical focus areas referenced above.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state where you will primarily deliver work or EIT with the expectation to obtain PE within one year.
- Clear passion for transportation and experience as a consultant.
Compensation and Benefits

The range for this position is $90,000-115,000, which is a combination of your base salary plus an employer-funded 401K retirement contribution. Position in this range is determined by candidate’s experience and office location.
