Lee Health is seeking a strategic, forward-thinking laboratory executive to lead our highly complex Regional Laboratory operations. The Administrative Laboratory Director provides executive oversight across multiple service lines, ensuring regulatory excellence, operational efficiency, financial stewardship, and high-quality patient outcomes.
Scope of Oversight
Blood Center, Specimen Receiving & Processing, Clinical Laboratory, Microbiology, Histology, Ambulatory Point of Care, Outpatient Laboratory Customer Service, and Laboratory Courier Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership across all Regional Laboratory operations
- Partner with system and medical leadership to define and execute long-range strategy
- Drive quality, compliance, financial performance, and growth initiatives
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, Florida regulations, AABB, FDA, CAP, and organizational standards
- Lead workforce planning, resource allocation, and operational optimization
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; MHA, MBA, or related advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive senior leadership experience in clinical laboratory operations
- Experience overseeing complex, multi-service laboratory environments (Histology/Pathology preferred)
- Active Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor license required
- Proven success in regulatory compliance, financial oversight, and performance improvement
- Strong executive presence, analytical expertise, and team-building capabilities
