People Development Specialist (Trainer)
The People Development Specialist will primarily work with the Director of People Development to facilitate corporate initiatives related to training and talent development. The position will support design and delivery efforts, as well as facilitate communications between the People Development team and the organization. This is a fully, in-office position with some ability to work remotely. Some travel required to other PEFCU locations in the Southeast.
What you will do
Delivery:
- Deliver engaging training programs that support organizational objectives, ensuring content is accessible to various learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.)
- Facilitate dynamic, high-energy training sessions - both in-person and virtual - tailored for diverse employee groups, from front-line associates to leadership teams
- Stay ahead of learning and development trends, incorporating innovative techniques to enhance associate engagement and skill-building
- Facilitate a comprehensive onboarding program for new hires across various roles, focusing on both technical skills and premier member service skills
- Ensure new hires are integrated into the organizational culture and are well acquainted with PEFCU's mission, vision, values, and operational processes
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with all departments across the Credit Union and operational leaders to ensure training initiatives align with organizational objectives and drive performance improvement
Evaluation:
- Continuously evaluate and update training content to ensure relevance, effectiveness, and alignment with industry best practices
- Assess learning gaps and recommend solutions that drive knowledge retention and application in the workplace
- Track training effectiveness through assessments, surveys, feedback, and performance analytics and recommend enhancements based on findings
- May assist with the review of company standard operating procedures
- Identify associate performance risks through role situational practicum; by observing and documenting associate performance - technical skills and expectations of the associate's assigned role
Coordination:
- Support compliance training and certification programs as needed
- Draft and distribute internal communications to key partners, including subject matter experts, program participants, and stakeholders
- Coordinate training schedules and logistics to ensure optimal participation and minimal disruption to operations
- Maintain accurate records of training attendance, completion, and performance evaluations for internal reporting purposes
- Responsible for conducting skill proficiency assessments, maintaining training documentation, and providing feedback to the Director of People Development as well as the leaders of the trainees and the learners themselves
- Orders appropriate materials and supplies for the training programs, as applicable
- Create and maintain master training catalog and market available training (e.g., BizLibrary) to associates and provide necessary information about sessions
- Plans, coordinates, and implements all aspects of training programs for participants throughout the organization, including but not limited to instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training
Knowledge:
- Remain current on learning and development best practices and routinely share this knowledge with others within the department
- Always ensure preparedness on core courses
What you need
- 1-2 years' experience performing and/or training the functions typically executed in a banking branch (e.g. teller, universal banker/member advocate)
- Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Adult Learning or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to deliver compelling, high-energy training sessions for diverse audiences
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging learning materials
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple training programs simultaneously
- HRCI or SHRM Certification desired
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
- Passionate about learning and committed to ensuring associate possesses the knowledge and skills needed to perform at peak levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Adept in using technology and facilitation techniques to influence the content knowledge and development of learners through virtual settings
- Ability to travel 25-30% of the time in the southeast (mainly Florida and Georgia)
- Continued self-education and training will be required to succeed
- Skilled in project management, handling multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments
