Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join a busy civil defense practice in Orlando, FL. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an attorney who is confident managing litigation matters, comfortable in the courtroom, and ready to take ownership of a diverse civil defense caseload from inception through resolution.

This role offers strong long-term growth potential, exposure to complex civil litigation matters, and the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys, clients, paralegals, and support staff in a collaborative legal environment. The practice offers a supportive team culture, steady case flow, and opportunities to build hands-on litigation, deposition, mediation, and trial experience.

The ideal Litigation Attorney will bring strong advocacy skills, excellent organization, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced legal services environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from initial case review through resolution.
- Handle pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediation, motion practice, trial preparation, and courtroom appearances.
- Draft motions, legal memoranda, discovery requests and responses, pleadings, and other litigation documents.
- Conduct legal research, case analysis, and strategy development in collaboration with senior attorneys and clients.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, court personnel, and internal legal team members.
- Work with paralegals and support staff to ensure accurate case documentation, timely filings, and compliance with court deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $100,000 to $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Job Type: Direct hire, full-time.
- Location: Orlando, FL.
- Work Arrangement: Onsite or hybrid, depending on firm needs.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage civil defense litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and litigation-related documents.
- Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as needed.
- Coordinate case strategy, deadlines, documentation, and communication with clients and legal teams.

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- 3 to 5 years of litigation experience preferred for this role, with civil defense experience strongly aligned to the opportunity.
- Experience with discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, and courtroom appearances.
- Strong legal writing, research, analysis, and verbal advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and professional client communication.

Preferred Qualifications

- Civil defense litigation experience involving trucking, premises liability, personal injury, or products liability matters.
- Trial or deposition experience.
- Experience working in a billable-hour legal environment.
- Familiarity with case management systems or legal research platforms.
