Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $17 - $19 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Shrimp Larval Culture Technician:

• Feed shrimp larvae at all developmental stages
• Prepare and administer treatments, including probiotics and approved chemical agents
• Acclimate nauplii and prepare tanks and carboys for stocking
• Perform water exchanges and prepare specialized diets for larval feeding
• Monitor temperature and water quality parameters
• Harvest larvae and prepare them for transfer or shipment
• Handle, package, and prepare shrimp postlarvae for off-site delivery
• Support microalgae and artemia culture as needed
• Clean and disinfect culture rooms, equipment, and work areas
• Maintain overall facility cleanliness and operational readiness

Job requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Willing to learn and possess attention to detail
• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and biosecurity protocols
• Ability to work in warm and humid conditions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs
• Previous aquaculture or animal care experience preferred, but not required
• Must have strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills
