Key Responsibilities:
- Production Management
- Lead and coordinate electrical and mechanical direct labor teams to consistently meet production schedules.
- Monitor workflows, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources to achieve operational goals.
- Resolve production challenges quickly and effectively.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with planners and Project Managers to ensure weekly production schedules stay on track.
- Proactively escalate challenges impacting deadlines to senior management and other departments as needed.
- Safety Compliance
- Champion a culture of safety, enforcing OSHA and company-specific safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety audits, spot potential hazards, and implement proactive corrective actions.
- Lead safety inspections and audits with the support of the safety team, ensuring compliance across all work cells and leadership teams.
- Employee Management
- Lead, coach, and inspire employees to deliver their best performance, conducting regular feedback sessions and performance reviews.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment.
- Identify training and development opportunities to build team capabilities.
- Address employee concerns professionally, from coaching and mentorship to formal feedback such as write-ups, reviews, and warnings.
- Host regular production meetings to align and energize the team.
- Process Improvement
- Drive initiatives to streamline operations, reduce waste, and maximize efficiency.
- Lead productivity-focused projects and champion lean manufacturing practices.
- Collaborate with different departments to implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Monitor and report on KPIs, including productivity, quality, and safety performance .
- Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, production data, and safety incidents.
- Participate in strategic planning meetings to align production goals with company objectives.
- Partner with HR to lead hiring, onboarding, and training efforts for new team members.
Assess staffing needs, monitor capacity versus workload, and escalate headcount adjustments as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, Engineering, or a related field required.
- 5+ years of production supervisory experience in industrial manufacturing.
- 10+ years of operations experience required.
- Solid knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and processes.
- Proven expertise in safety management and OSHA compliance.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Proficiency with production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move across the production floor for extended periods.
Work Schedule:
This role requires flexibility to adapt to changing production needs, including occasional weekends or overtime to meet critical deadlines.
