KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is part of the KIPP national network. In the 2025-2026 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.
KIPP Impact Academy : Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP VOICE Academy : Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP Bold City High School : 9th - 12th grade
In the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.
K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm, K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 student dismissal is at 1:30pm
High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School student dismissal is at 12:30pm.
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is hiring full-time, salaried Floating Guest Educators to join our team. These educators play a vital role in our schools by stepping into classrooms on a temporary, as needed basis for long-term vacancies or covering for teachers on PTO. Floating Guest Educators take on the responsibilities of a classroom teacher, including leading lessons, managing classroom expectations, and fostering a positive academic environment. They ensure smooth transitions by collaborating with the school team and executing high-quality lesson plans.
Each assignment is expected to last approximately 6 to 8 weeks . After completing a leave at one school, you may be transferred to another campus to support another temporary need. However, if there is not another coverage assignment available , your position with us will end at that time .
This role requires flexibility with both location and schedule, as assignments will vary based on the needs of our campuses.

- Starting salary for full-time Floating Guest Educator: $38,500

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- 60 college credits or a completed AA degree
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree
- Clear path to obtaining a Florida Teaching Certificate
- Experience working in an urban public school or charter school setting
