Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Milton, Florida
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
Pay Rate: $18 - $20 per hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Milton, Florida. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to our medical staff and deliver high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist physicians and nursing staff with patient examinations and procedures.
Record and update patient medical histories and vital signs.
Prepare patients for examinations and ensure they are comfortable.
Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by providers.
Perform basic laboratory tests and maintain accurate records.
Schedule patient appointments and manage the front desk operations.
Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical equipment.
Assist with insurance verification and patient billing processes.
Follow all safety and health regulations to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Previous experience in a medical office setting is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

* Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.* Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
* Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.
* Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
* Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments or materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.
* Greet and log in patients arriving at office or clinic.
* Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.
* Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
* Set up medical laboratory equipment.
* Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission.
* Change dressings on wounds.
