Cabot Citrus Farms

Cabot’s first American property, Cabot Citrus Farms, is set across 1,200 acres of pristine natural beauty in the Central-West region of Florida, aptly known as the Nature Coast. Position Overview

Joining Cabot Citrus Farms as the Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This position involves assisting the culinary team in the preparation of high-quality dishes while adhering to safety and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare food items as required in a sanitary and timely manner in accordance with recipes, portion control, and presentation specifications.  
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing kitchen and culinary equipment.  

  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas including refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas.  
  • Demonstrate safe and proper use of kitchen equipment including knives.  
  • Maintain open communication with the BOH team.  
  • Participate in deep cleaning of BOH work areas, including but not limited to, refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas.   
  • Support others and foster a positive work environment.  

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily based in a fast-paced kitchen, requiring a strong focus on food preparation and service.
  • Working in a hot environment due to cooking equipment and ovens, especially during peak service hours.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Adherence to safety and sanitation regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and aprons.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the resort’s operational needs.
