Position Summary:

The Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist is a key contributor to the AR team, performing all the core functions of an AR Specialist while providing advanced technical guidance, process improvement leadership, and backup supervision when needed. This temp-to-perm role involves developing and updating SOPs, mentoring peers, and working closely with the AR Manager to resolve complex customer account issues.

Reports to: Accounts Receivable Manager

Location: Hialeah, FL

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform all daily AR functions, including posting cash receipts, processing invoices, and reviewing credit applications.

• Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for AR processes.

• Provide technical guidance and serve as a subject matter expert to the AR team.

• Mentor and onboard new AR staff to promote a collaborative, high-performance culture.

• Serve as backup supervisor during the AR Manager’s absence to ensure smooth operations.

• Collaborate with the AR Manager on complex customer account and payment issue resolution.

• Maintain accurate documentation, including sales tax exemption certificates.

• Research and resolve billing/payment discrepancies in partnership with Customer Service.

• Assist with collections and customer account communications.

• Support continuous process improvement initiatives for AR workflows.

Education & Qualifications:

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.

• 3+ years of progressively responsible AR experience, including leadership or mentorship.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and accounting/ERP systems.

• Proven experience developing and maintaining SOP documentation.

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and resolve complex account issues.

• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
