Location: Coral Gables, FL
Schedule: Monday and Thursday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm OR 9:00 am to 5:00 pm – guaranteed 16 hours/week
Compensation: $45–$65/hour through payroll system, DOE (negotiable for the right candidate)

A kind family of four in Coral Gables is seeking an exceptionally skilled and detail-oriented Laundress to manage all aspects of household laundry and closet organization. This is a long-term position for a professional who takes pride in their work, maintains excellent systems, and thrives in keeping a household running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle all laundry responsibilities: washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes, towels, and household items with meticulous care.

• Steaming and ironing garments as needed, including delicate and high-end pieces.

• Strip and wash linens every other week, remake beds with fresh sheets, and maintain bedrooms to a high standard.

• Maintain a seamless flow of laundry by creating and following a structured schedule (e.g., washing clothes for specific family members on designated days).

• Manage sports uniforms for two teenagers, ensuring they are always clean and ready for use.

• Perform minor alterations, sewing, and tailoring (strong plus).

• Keep closets and drawers organized and functional, maintaining systems for long-term ease and efficiency.

• Assist with occasional errands, such as dropping off and picking up dry cleaning.

• Proactively notice details—if a bed is unmade (on a non-linen day), simply make it neatly.

• Use excellent time-management skills to maximize productivity within the 2-day schedule.

Special Projects

The family will be relocating to a new home on November 1st. The Laundress will play an important role in:

• Helping organize clothing in the current home prior to the move.

• Assisting with packing clothing and preparing for the transition.

• Post-move: unpacking, laundering, and carefully organizing clothing in new closets.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience as a laundress, ideally in a high-end private household.

• Expertise in handling luxury fabrics such as silk, cashmere, and delicate wools.

• Strong knowledge of garment care, pressing, steaming, and ironing.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to create and maintain efficient systems and workflows.

• Experience with minor sewing/alterations highly preferred.

• Trustworthy, discreet, and dependable, with a proactive work style.

• The family values reliability and punctuality, so they are requesting that the candidate live within an easily commutable distance.

• Valid driver’s license for occasional dry cleaning errands.
