Prep Cook

Tuckers Cove Town Center, located in Punta Gorda, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Prep Cook! Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour, Part-time and Full-time positions available.

General Purpose:

​​​Prepares various food products for restaurant and banquet operations, guest consumption and enjoyment.​​

Essential Duties:

• Follows recipes and/or product directions for proper food preparation
• Maintains quality control for all products, including monitoring freshness of product daily
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart
• Prepares appropriate equipment for cooking
• Operates kitchen utensils and/or equipment used for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling and kneading of food products
• Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating and checking temperature of products
• Receives and inventories food and beverage product and supplies
• Cleans and sanitizes ​workstation ​​work station​ and equipment
• Ability to perform any other duties as assigned by Department Manager

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, hears, tastes and smells. Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

Regularly works in extreme heat (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally works in extreme cold (non-weather), wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near toxic or caustic chemicals, and in outdoor weather. Noise level is moderate.
