Lee Health is seeking an RN for their current opening as the EMS/STARS Coordinator:

Golisano Childrens Hospital offers the Special Needs Tracking and Awareness Response System (STARS ) (Copyright 2025 SSM Health ) :a free service that helps emergency teams care for children with complex medical needs. STARS gives local first responders the tools and information they need to provide fast, skilled care during emergencies. Its designed to reduce stress for families and improve outcomes for patients when every second counts.

• RN degree required
• Must have 5 years experience working with pediatric patients with complex medical needs
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in emergency medical services and/or critical care as an RN or paramedic

The coordinator must have a comprehensive understanding of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) protocols and procedures as well as the capabilities and limitations of community hospitals. The Special Needs Tracking and Awareness Response System (STARS) Program Coordinator must develop strong working relationships with local ground EMS services, air medical services, and community hospitals as well as with the subspecialists at the STARS Base Hospital. The Coordinator will be the first line contact for all STARS related inquiries and management within the STARS Base Hospital service area. The STARS Program Coordinator will facilitate communication between specialty clinics, the STARS Medical Director and all outside participating agencies, including hospitals, EMS services, EMS medical directors and families.

Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire (American Heart Association BLS preferred), upon renewal American Heart Association BLS is required.

American Heart Association - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Certification in specialty area preferred within 2 years of hire.

Membership of professional organization preferred.
