Autotransfusionist

Talent Consultants is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Autotransfusionist to join our team of healthcare professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for the collection, processing, and reinfusion of a patient's own blood during surgical procedures. Your expertise will ensure that patients receive the best possible care while minimizing the risks associated with transfusions. Your commitment to quality and safety in blood management will be essential in achieving optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain autotransfusion devices and equipment, ensuring they are functioning effectively during surgical procedures.
• Collect and process autologous blood for reinfusion, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
• Monitor patient vitals and the effectiveness of reinfusion throughout surgical procedures.
• Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to create optimal blood management plans.
• Maintain accurate records of blood collection, processing, and reinfusion activities in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Educate surgical staff and patients on the benefits and risks associated with autotransfusion.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant healthcare field or equivalent experience.
• Certification as an Autotransfusionist is preferred.
• Previous experience in a surgical or transfusion service setting is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of blood management practices, autotransfusion techniques, and patient safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the surgical team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Commitment to ongoing education and professional development in the field of transfusion medicine.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holiday shifts as required.
