Senior Tax Associate

We are seeking a Senior Tax Associate in Jacksonville, Florida to join a well-established public accounting and advisory practice serving individuals, entrepreneurs, and growing businesses. This full-time position requires 3+ years of experience in public accounting with a strong background in tax compliance, research, and advisory services. The Senior Tax Associate will play a key role in delivering accurate tax filings, proactive planning strategies, and financial insight to clients throughout Jacksonville. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
• Conduct in-depth tax research and apply current tax regulations to ensure compliance and identify planning opportunities.
• Support business clients with strategic tax planning, entity structuring considerations, and year-round advisory services.
• Analyze financial statements and accounting records to ensure accuracy and alignment with tax reporting requirements.
• Assist with IRS and state tax correspondence, notices, and resolution matters.
• Collaborate with internal accounting staff to ensure bookkeeping and financial reporting accuracy.
• Participate in business performance and financial analysis projects to support client growth initiatives.
• Mentor junior associates by reviewing workpapers, providing constructive feedback, and supporting professional development.
• Maintain organized documentation and adhere to firm quality control procedures and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA license or CPA candidacy strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax preparation and compliance.
• Solid understanding of U.S. federal and state tax laws for individuals and business entities.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
