Job Description:
- Serves as a career coach by delivering individual and group career planning services to UF students within a specific career cluster. Supports career clusters by facilitating individual career planning appointments, drop-in services, and small group coaching to UF undergraduate and graduate students based on industry-specific knowledge.
- Facilitates customized career education workshops, for-credit course material, and large group programs to UF undergraduate and graduate students for career clusters. Implements elements of the Career Action Plan and career development theory to all workshops and programs. Provides direct service or coaching through center-wide series and cohort programs focused on the professionalization of students. Customizes existing C3 marketing materials and resources for specific career cluster populations.
- Facilitates external career development programming and outreach to student organizations, campus partners, and faculty to promote career services and the Career Connections Center. Coordinates day-to-day outreach administration and handles logistical functions to support career education programming including scheduling, reserving space, ordering supplies, communicating with attendees and other activities.
- Engages with employers to facilitate their participation in industry education activities such as C3 workshops, outreaches, events and conferences. Works with team Managers to develop programs to connect students with industry. Maintains relationships with industry partners to increase employment connections for UF candidates while helping students prepare for successful applications or interviews in these opportunities.
- Aids in maintaining quantitative and qualitative records for various types of interactions for assessment and reporting purposes to demonstrate impact. Responsible for tracking and reporting on student engagement. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of career development trends.
Expected Salary:
$52,000.00
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.Certified Career Services Practitioner (CCSP) within first year of employment.
Preferred:
EDUCATION & TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, social sciences, education, student personnel, or human resources (HR)EXPERIENCE- Two (2) years of experience (minimum) in career development, education, career coaching, HR, stakeholder engagement, marketing.- Experience working with a range of different perspectives, viewpoints, and experiences.
- Experience with presenting and facilitating large groups.KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of career development, employment trends, student development, career services, career coaching, and outreach strategies SKILLS
- Skilled in computer applications
- Facilitative skills - Interpersonal skills
- Good presentations skills, listening skills, helping skills, relationship management, and program development ABILITIES: Ability to work independently and contribute to a team PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: None noted
