Site Operations Manager, Weston, FL
Summary
The Site Operations Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all activities of the site at Medix Biochemica - Weston
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of custom order-to-delivery process to ensure smooth chain from material suppliers to customers
- Evaluate the efficiency of manufacturing processes and apply improvements (Lean Manufacturing)
- Support Procurement Sourcing Processes and coordinate material and resources allocation
- Delivers on inventory goals established by the business
- Assures that sufficient raw materials and supplies are available for product manufacturing
- Assures that the facility, equipment and personnel are available for product manufacturing
- Oversee logistics to enhance customer satisfaction
- Review financial information/revenue margins and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
- Evaluate overall performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
- Establishes production standards to ensure Production personnel perform daily tasks properly
- Ensures equipment is operated in accordance with current protocols
- Directs and coordinates departmental safety and training
- Support QA to ensure ISO and other Regulatory Audits are passed
- Prepare / update documents for Manufacturing
- Review change orders, nonconforming reports, deviation requests etc.
- Work with QC to analyze and ensure that specifications of starting materials, work-in-progress, and final products are met
- Develop employees through skill set improvement initiatives (Lean, coaching, etc.)
- Monitor employee productivity and satisfaction, provide constructive feedback
- Develop understanding of ERP system (Oracle – Netsuite) and ensure ongoing maintenance
Other Duties
Other duties may be assigned as needed, including general cleaning and any other functions to support the site.
Qualifications
At least ten years of experience in biochemical manufacturing. The individual must be self-motivated, hardworking, and willing to put extra effort into going above and beyond the minimum requirements.
Education/Experience
At least a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, engineering, or a related field with minimum of 3-5 years’ experience.

The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee will regularly need to push, pull, or lift items exceeding 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Communication Skills
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to verbally communicate with team members and coworkers to achieve tasks effectively and to write and record simple notes and figures.
Math Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills
Ability to use the Microsoft ® Office suite of programs, Adobe Acrobat, and other office and scientific software. Ability to graph or track data produced during typical manufacturing procedures.

UV-vis spectrophotometers
Work Environment
The work environment described here is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may be exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Some operations require the use of personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirators, safety glasses, face shields, and protective clothing and footwear.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
