CLERICAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT IV
: POSITION GOAL To perform complex and diversified clerical and administrative tasks in support of the efficient and effective operations of the office. ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES The Clerical Support Assistant IV shall carry out the essential performance responsibilities listed below: Perform a variety of advanced clerical duties to support supervisory and administrative personnel in handling daily activities. Answers the telephone, responds to inquiries and provides information based on general knowledge of departmental programs or activities. Receive, open and review incoming mail, addressing items that can be handled personally and distributing others to the immediate supervisor or appropriate staff member. Compile and edit information for special reports, at the request of supervision. Maintain complete filing systems and records as required. Code, classify, post and consolidate information for reports; check for required forms and number of copies. Maintain information in computer databases, as needed. Communicate and distribute information of department policies and programs and ensure clerical and administrative processes comply with established policies. Verify, check, and examine technical and complex sources of information and other types of reports for accuracy and compliance with established Assist the supervisor by following up with staff and other individuals, as requested, to ensure timely completion of work-related tasks. Assist the supervisor with completion of administrative tasks, including, but not limited to budgeting and accounting, personnel administration, purchasing, reporting, and other office Compose and edit routine correspondence including forms, memoranda, reports, manuscripts, and other Maintain necessary files and perform all clerical work required to support the supervisor and staff. Receive visitors and provide information or make referrals to other staff members, when appropriate. Assemble and summarize information from files and documents in the office or other available sources for the supervisor's use, based on general instructions as to nature of information Interact effectively with the general public, staff members, students, teachers, parents, and administrators, using tact and good Operate standard office equipment as required by the Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the equal employment and non-discrimination policies of The School Board of Broward County, Florida. Participate in the training programs offered to enhance the individual skills and proficiency related to the job responsibilities. Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job Ensure adherence to safety rules and Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, or designee. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program. A minimum of five (5) years, within the last ten (10) years, of clerical work. Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures including filing, answering telephones, or utilizing standard office equipment. Proficient in the operation of office machinery and equipment, including personal computers, fax machines, printers, scanners, etc. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Advanced organization skills and keen attentiveness to detail. Computer skills as required for the position. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Prior work experience with Broward County Public Bilingual. SIGNIFICANT CONTACTS-frequency, contact, purpose Frequently works with parents and students, as necessary; interacts with staff and the general public regarding various inquiries. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan.
