Welder / Parts Repair Technician

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Weld repair and manufacture of turbine generator components, minaly TIG welding.

• Grind and blend welds/parts to OEM/cusomer satisfaction (Apx. 75% of time will be grinding and blending, 25% welding)

• Disassembly and assembly of turbine/generator components.

• Part/component inspections.

• Prep and blend parts. Including but not limited to media blasting.

• Work with job site managers.

• Operate forklifts and cranes.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

• Support other areas of the shop as needed.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred.

• Familiarity with Power Generation Industry preferred.

• Availablity for significant mandatory overtime druring peak periods.

• Knowledge of precision measurement equipment.

• Ability to read and

  interpret blueprints and technical specifications.

• Ability to perform welding tasks on delicate components with precision and minimal distortion.

• Ability to set up and operate welding equipment.

• Mechanical skills.

• Communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to foresee changes relevant to area of responsibility.

• Ability to organize work assignments to ensure efficient operations within the area.

• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to achieve intended objective.

• Good organizational skills.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and in environments that require frequent bending, reaching and lifting.

• Ability to follow safety guidelines set by customer and ARMS.

• OSHA 10 certification, preferred.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Ability to pass drug test and background check.

• Forklift Licensed
• Deburring Experience
• High School / GED
• Excellent Communication Skills
