Tropical Hotel General Manager
Job Summary
The Hotel General Manager leads all operations at our premier beachfront hotel/resort, delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving profitability, team performance, and brand standards. This hands-on leadership role oversees daily resort functions in a vibrant, seasonal beach environment—maximizing occupancy, RevPAR, guest satisfaction, and revenue from rooms, Famp;B, beach activities, events, and leisure amenities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all departments (front office, housekeeping, Famp;B, maintenance, sales/marketing, recreation/beach services) to ensure seamless, high-quality operations and guest satisfaction.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, Pamp;L, cost controls, and revenue strategies to achieve financial targets in a high-seasonal beach market.
- Lead, recruit, train, and motivate the team; foster a positive, guest-focused culture with emphasis on beach hospitality and seasonal staffing.
- Drive guest experience excellence, including personalized service, beachfront events, pool/beach operations, and handling peak-season demands.
- Ensure compliance with health/safety regulations, brand standards, and local beach/resort ordinances.
- Partner with ownership/corporate on capital projects, renovations, and growth initiatives (e.g., beach upgrades, event spaces).
- Monitor key metrics (STR reports, guest reviews, labor costs) and implement improvements for profitability and reputation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years progressive hotel/resort management experience, with at least 2–3 years as General Manager (beachfront, resort, or full-service preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field (preferred).
- Strong leadership, financial acumen, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
- Passion for beach hospitality, guest service, and team development.
- Proficiency with hotel systems (e.g., Opera, revenue management tools) and Microsoft Office.
