Job Summary
Hey there, future Field Marketing Manager!
If you're ready to help ensure every kid leaves the cafeteria happier and healthier, we want you on our team. As a Field Marketing Director at Chartwells, your mission is to bring a dash of fun and excitement to our programs and services. From sprucing up the cafeteria environment to developing new student engagement programs, you'll be the magician behind the scenes—detailing and refining marketing standards, crafting solutions to improve student and operator experiences, and driving participation in school meal programs.
A key part of your role will also be training and empowering our in-unit directors on how to implement and successfully roll out marketing strategies. You'll serve as a mentor and guide, helping them bring marketing to life in their schools in a way that’s engaging, effective, and aligned with our mission.
This is a boots-on-the-ground role, meaning you'll be actively present in school districts Monday through Friday—collaborating with teams, supporting on-site initiatives, and bringing energy and creativity directly into the schools we serve.
We're looking for someone with excellent communication and critical thinking skills, and a heart that beats for service. If you're passionate about making a difference where it matters most, we’d love to meet you.
The Ask:
• Plan and implement marketing programs in partnership with Operators, support teams and leadership to ensure continued engagement from students, clients, and communities.
• Show off your influencing skills and make a difference through others who may not report directly to you.
• Be the go-to person for training and supporting operators. Help them implement student-facing and front-of-house programs that make every day in the cafeteria exciting.
• Make sure our operators have the tools and know-how to keep our programs running efficiently.
• Let your creativity flow as you develop and maintain marketing and merchandising tools, including presentations, diagrams, and pictures.
• Conduct marketing audits to ensure our front-of-house operations are outstanding. Partner with operators to keep the good times rolling.
• Build implementation tools, materials, modules, and procedures. These will be your secret weapons for training and developing our outstanding team members.
• Team up with Culinary and Nutrition teams to cook up some amazing programs. It's about bringing people together for a delicious and nutritious experience.
• Collaborate with other partners to make sure our business strategy is a slam dunk.
• Dive into focus groups and surveys to uncover key market insights and keep our marketing strategy ahead of the curve.
• Work closely with our strategic accounts, addressing their needs and turning risks into opportunities.
• Collect data and report on return on investment and key performance metrics.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5+ years’ experience in marketing and/or training, preferably in foodservice, or in operations/culinary roles with demonstrated ability to market programs, merchandise, and build outstanding customer experiences
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience in multi-unit foodservice or hospitality management in lieu of degree
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Adept at addressing large groups, whether it's in person or virtual
• Ability to set priorities and stay organized in a changing environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead implementation and produce positive outcomes by working through teams
• Microsoft Office proficiency: Word, Excel, Outlook, Forms and especially PowerPoint
• Ability to travel between schools daily
