Summer Assistant Site Directors

General Job Description The Summer Assistant Site Director works collaboratively with full-time directors to ensure a successful Summer Institute; and works closely with the Scholars and their families, and the Teaching Fellows to ensure their needs are met.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist Site Directors with the coordination and management of student attendance and reports for funders and BTM
  • Assist Site Directors with management of student information in the BTM student database
  • Assist Site Directors with student discipline/conduct issues
  • Assist with fire and evacuation drills
  • Assist with Teaching Fellow Training and professional development during Orientation Week and throughout the summer
  • Assist with management and development of Teaching Fellows
  • Assist with implementation of the Teaching Assistant program
  • Assist with collecting and reviewing all required paperwork and timesheets from faculty
  • Assist Site Directors in designing, implementing and overseeing Evaluation Week schedule
  • Assist Site Directors in remaining in compliance with the Breakthrough Collaborative, and funding guidelines
  • Assist Site Directors in preparation for major events at their respective site, including Visitors Day, Family Night, and other events as scheduled
  • Assist Site Directors with all program evaluations during final ten days of programming
    • Staff Evaluations of Students
    • Student Evaluations of Teachers
    • Staff and student Evaluations of Program
    • Parent Evaluations of Program

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Two or more years of relevant experience
  • Outstanding track record as a professional classroom teacher for minimum of two years
  • High degree of flexibility; ability to multitask between projects
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in many different environments with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to deliver positive, constructive, and honest feedback; both written and verbal
  • Comfort and confidence in working with children and adults
  • Creativity, energy, and commitment to excellence
  • Prior experience with Summerbridge or Breakthrough is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Broward County Public Schools, or Palm Beach County Public Schools is highly desirable
  • Experience in an academically rigorous college-preparatory institution is highly desirable

Schedule and Compensation

Dates and Times:

Prior to Summer Program: A few hours a week in May, as needed

Required Instructional Coach Training: May 10 & May 17, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Start Date: June 7, 2025

Teaching Fellow Orientation: June 7- June 13, 2025, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summer Program: June 16 -July 25, 2025, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Some evenings may be longer due to programming and family events.

Evaluation Week: July 28–August 1, 2025, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Compensation:

$4,500 stipend (paid over four pay periods)
