We provide high-quality, customer-focused de-watering and fluid transfer solutions. With decades of expertise, our pump division delivers comprehensive solutions from design to on-site installation, system monitoring to dismantle and demobilization and manufactures over 50% of our products in-house.

Field Technician manages all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks. They diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions. They are responsible for the service and customer support during field visits and dispatches.

Essential Functions

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working conditions on the job site or in the shop
  • Performs routine equipment clean-up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspections
  • Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and adjusts heavy equipment as required and completes all paperwork on assigned equipment
  • Participate in all training programs directed by the Service Manager
  • Bring to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools, equipment, or vehicles that are not in a serviceable condition or unsafe to use
  • Maintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulations
  • Completes basic computer tasks including work orders, parts lookup, and email communication
  • Communicates with coworkers and customers to ensure top-quality equipment availability and customer expectations are exceeded
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
  • Tie workflow to schedule
  • Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports
  • Operate vehicles safely and use field automation systems
  • Follow all company field procedures and protocols
  • Cooperate with the technical team and share information across the organization
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations or briefings
  • Build positive relationships with customers
  • Exhibit strong teamwork

Required Education and Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment
  • Proven field service experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
  • Must have own tools
  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work flexible shifts

Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily conducted in construction sites, equipment yards, and transportation routes
  • Regular exposure to heavy machinery and diesel-powered equipment
  • Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind
  • Physically demanding environment with uneven terrain, dust, mud, and loud noise levels
  • Duties may involve shop-based tasks and fieldwork, including travel to remote job sites
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols is required at all times
  • PPE such as steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection must be worn as needed
  • Must be comfortable operating around large equipment, confined spaces, or elevated positions
  • Lifting heavy components and materials is often required
  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential as job site conditions and priorities change rapidly

Travel Required

  • Required to travel to various locations for training classes or seminars
  • Drive to multiple vendors to acquire parts for assigned repairs
  • Position may require several hours of driving daily to job sites

Physical Demands

  • Requires a high level of physical stamina and mobility in jobsite and yard environments
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of tools, chains, tarps, and equipment weighing 50+ pounds
  • Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and working on uneven terrain such as gravel, dirt, or pavement
  • Climbing in and out of trucks, onto trailers, or equipment is required
  • Must maintain balance while working from steps, ladders, or elevated platforms
  • Fine motor skills and manual dexterity required for handling controls, tie-downs, and documentation
  • Must safely operate commercial vehicles and remain alert in hazardous driving and yard conditions
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, and positioning of heavy materials or components
