Location: Dave & Mary Alper JCC Miami

Schedule: Part-time (afternoon/evening hours)

The Dave & Mary Alper Jewish Community Center (Alper JCC) in Miami is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Custodian/Janitor/Housekeepe r to join our Facilities team. This position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily and deep cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, offices, fitness areas, and community spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect all assigned areas.
• Restock restrooms and supply closets as needed.
• Empty trash and transport waste to designated areas.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
• Pressure clean outdoor walkways, walls, and other surfaces as assigned.
• Assist with special cleaning projects, event setups, and breakdowns.
• Follow all safety procedures and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Work efficiently, independently, and maintain high attention to detail.
• Collaborate with the maintenance and custodial team to ensure all areas meet JCC cleanliness standards.

Qualifications:

• Prior custodial, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred.
• Experience with pressure cleaning equipment a plus.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to take direction.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and pride in maintaining a clean environment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Operate cleaning and pressure washing equipment safely and effectively.
• Tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals and occasional outdoor work.
• Repetitive motion and frequent movement throughout large facilities.
