This position is scheduled Monday - Thursday 8a -1pm, Friday 1p -6p during the centers operational hours. The starting rate of pay is $15 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. This is an onsite role at our center location: 207 Emerson Dr. NW, Palm Bay, FL 32907

The VPK Teacher coordinates engaging developmental activities, implements a curriculum through Learning Beyond Paper that prepares children for school, and enhances their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. The Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Teacher serves as a model and mentor. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, and support the growth and success of children

What You’ll Do:

• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
• Lead by example and encourage success through modeling and coaching
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth
• Follow all facility policies and state regulations
• Maintain a personal and professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement

What We Need from You:

• High School Diploma or GED and/or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field of study
• FL 45 DCF hours with CDA and VPK Endorsement required

• Must clear a level II background check
• At least 1 year of professional early childhood training/experience and 1 year of childcare experience preferred
•    Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills
•    Strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where students are engaged and encouraged to succeed
•    Effective in communicating with both students and parents to meet the needs of the children.
