Complex Litigation Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded Am Law 100 law firm in Tampa, FL . This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation attorney with 2–4 years of experience to join a collaborative team handling a broad range of complex litigation matters.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced litigators on sophisticated matters across all stages of litigation. This position offers meaningful client interaction, hands-on litigation experience, and opportunities for professional growth within a nationally recognized litigation practice.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex litigation matters from inception through resolution.

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.

• Participate in all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery.

• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.

• Communicate directly with clients while providing practical legal guidance.

• Collaborate with attorneys and legal professionals to develop effective case strategies.

• Manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

• Active membership in The Florida Bar .

• 2–4 years of transferable litigation experience.

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Prior courtroom and/or deposition experience is preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
