Marketing and Admissions Director

Position Summary:
The Admissions Director is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the admissions process of our 39-bed Skilled Nursing Facility. This role serves as the first point of contact for potential residents and their families, ensuring a smooth transition into our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare admissions, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to helping families during a time of transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all resident admissions from initial inquiry through intake and placement.
- Serve as the primary liaison with hospitals, physicians, discharge planners, and community agencies to generate and follow up on referrals.
- Conduct facility tours and respond promptly to inquiries regarding admissions.
- Assess potential residents for clinical and financial appropriateness in collaboration with nursing and administrative staff.
- Ensure all required documentation, authorizations, and insurance verifications are completed prior to admission.
- Maintain accurate admission records and reports, including census tracking and marketing data.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure a seamless and person-centered admission experience.
- Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources to promote the facility's services.
- Participate in marketing and outreach activities as directed by the Administrator.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of admissions or marketing experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private insurance processes.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with local hospital systems and referral networks.
- Experience working in a small skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting.
- Experience with referral management systems
Work Environment:
- On-site role at a 39-bed skilled nursing facility.
- May require occasional evening or weekend hours based on admission needs.
