Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

Our client is a healthcare provider in West Palm Beach, Florida, offering infusion therapy and related pharmacy services for patients with acute and chronic conditions, delivered either at home or at alternate treatment sites. It focuses on personalized, safe, and convenient care, including therapies like immunoglobulin, pulmonology, hemophilia, and anti-inflammatory infusions, supported by post-therapy follow-up and coordination with patients’ healthcare teams.

Salary: $19–$30/hr, based on experience

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a versatile Pharmacy Technician to support its growing home infusion practice. This hybrid role combines sterile compounding, patient intake coordination, and warehouse/delivery logistics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to patient safety and operational excellence in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Sterile Compounding (Cleanroom Operations):
  • Compound intravenous medications (antibiotics, TPNs, hydration therapies) per USP <797>/<800> standards.
  • Maintain aseptic technique, cleanroom protocols, and environmental/equipment monitoring.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists on batch records, labeling, lot tracking, and quality assurance.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and maintain audit readiness.
• Intake Coordination & Patient Onboarding:
  • Serve as first point of contact for new patient referrals, ensuring accurate intake and documentation.
  • Verify insurance benefits, facilitate prior authorizations, and coordinate care with prescribers, nurses, and payers.
  • Provide education and support to patients and caregivers about home infusion therapy.
• Logistics & Delivery Coordination:
  • Manage inventory, conduct cycle counts, and ensure proper rotation of time- and temperature-sensitive products.
  • Prepare, package, and stage patient-specific deliveries in compliance with DOT and state regulations.
  • Monitor shipments, manage purchase orders, and maintain cold chain integrity.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to anticipate supply needs and prevent therapy delays.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in sterile compounding or home infusion pharmacy.
• Proficiency with pharmacy software systems (e.g., CPR+, TherigySTM).
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
