Vehicle Dispatch Coordinator
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Build and expand the company’s local dispatch and towing network by sourcing and onboarding towing companies that fit the company profile.
- Lead the vetting and onboarding process for new towing companies, including validating credentials, verifying insurance coverage, and ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., DOT regulations).
- Provide training and support to newly onboarded drivers on the dispatch procedure, inspection, title and payment.
- Manage daily dispatching of vehicle pickups from purchase locations to designated drop-off points, including in-house lots and partner facilities.
- Track active shipments and provide real-time updates on dispatch status to relevant internal teams and customers.
- Monitor delivery timelines and confirm successful vehicle arrivals.
- Verify & approve the transport payments upon confirmation of delivery.
- Ensure all drivers maintain compliant paperwork, including required documentation and up-to-date insurance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to delays, compliance, or driver performance.
- Maintain detailed records of dispatch activity, driver performance, and incident reports in the ERP.
Required Language(s) and Skills/Abilities:
- Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and dispatch/transport management systems.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a high-volume work environment.
Education and Experience:
- Negotiation and recruitment skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in vehicle dispatch, logistics coordination, or transportation services preferred.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements preferred.
