Texas Nursing Job Details

• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens Travel Nurse
• Location: Jacksonville, TX 75766 (East Texas nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Shift: 3 x 12-hour day shifts per week (07:00 – 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Charting: Epic EMR experience required
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6-7
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1460-$1500

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Clinical skills in rapid response/code teams, peripheral line care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and isolation precautions
• Applicants must reside outside Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris counties in Texas

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in the Medical/Surgical unit
• Monitor, assess, and document patient progress using Epic EMR
• Implement physician orders and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Respond to rapid response and code situations
• Manage peripheral lines and administer oxygen therapy
• Maintain strict adherence to isolation and infection control protocols
• Provide compassionate support and education to patients and families
