Professional Education & Partnerships Manager
An international higher education organization is expanding its global presence through the development of regional hubs that strengthen employer engagement, professional education, alumni activity, and global partnerships.
The CPD Lead / CPD Sales Manager will take primary responsibility for developing, promoting, and selling Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Continuing Education (CE) offerings within the hub's region. This role focuses on building employer relationships, identifying workforce training needs, securing CPD contracts, and coordinating the development and delivery of high-quality short courses, micro-credentials, and stackable learning pathways supported by academic partners.
This position blends business development, market intelligence, partnership management, and operational coordination, ensuring professional education offerings are market-relevant, scalable, and delivered to a high standard.
The CPD Lead serves as the central point of contact for all CPD activity within the hub, ensuring smooth processes, consistent quality, and an excellent experience for learners, clients, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
CPD Market Development & Sales
- Drive CPD and CE business development activity, achieving regional revenue and growth targets
- Identify emerging workforce trends, skills gaps, and employer training needs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, industry networks, sector bodies, and training partners
- Manage a sales pipeline and convert leads into contracted CPD programs
- Develop customized training proposals and negotiate commercial terms
- Collaborate with academic and subject-matter experts to design short courses, micro-credentials, and professional programs aligned with market demand
- Support localization of content where required to meet regulatory or sector expectations
- Maintain and coordinate a master schedule of CPD programs delivered through the hub
- Coordinate with academic, quality, and administrative teams to ensure smooth delivery and compliance
- Lead or support workforce surveys, skills mapping, and market research initiatives
- Analyze data and present insights to inform CPD strategy and program development
- Monitor competitor activity and trends in the professional education market
- Recommend new growth areas based on evidence and employer demand
- Partner with Marketing to develop promotional materials and campaigns
- Increase visibility of CPD offerings through digital channels, newsletters, employer events, and partnerships
- Represent the organization at conferences, industry forums, exhibitions, and professional networks
- Support delivery of webinars, masterclasses, and employer engagement events
- Build long-term strategic partnerships with employers investing in workforce development
- Serve as the primary point of contact for CPD clients throughout the engagement lifecycle
- Deliver high-quality client service to support retention and repeat business
- Coordinate feedback collection to support continuous improvement
- Support implementation of efficient CPD workflows and processes
- Coordinate with finance, enrollment, and quality teams on registration, invoicing, and reporting
- Ensure all approvals, documentation, and operational requirements are completed prior to delivery
- Support scheduling, logistics, and communications for CPD programs
- Track key performance indicators including leads, enrollments, revenue, and satisfaction
- Provide regular performance updates to hub leadership and central teams
- Contribute to annual planning, forecasting, and growth targets
- Recommend new delivery models, partnerships, and commercial strategies
Education & Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Background in training, business development, or education management preferred
Required
- Experience selling, managing, or coordinating CPD, short courses, or professional training programs
- Proven employer engagement and business development success
- Experience identifying skills gaps or conducting market research
- Experience supporting education or training delivery operations
- Experience in higher education, adult learning, or professional training environments
- Familiarity with micro-credentials, stackable credentials, or CPD frameworks
- Experience supporting marketing or promotion of education products
- Strong sales, negotiation, and partnership-building skills
- Excellent organizational and project management ability
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
