Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Shift: 6am-4:30pm Mon-Thurs (occasional Friday overtime)

Job Description
This role focuses on preparing tanks and enclosures for generator assembly by performing mechanical assembly, pipe fitting, and basic electrical work. You will use a variety of hand and power tools, interpret blueprints and work instructions, and ensure all work meets quality, safety, and electrical code standards in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tanks and enclosures for generator assembly according to specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Set up work areas and equipment using proper techniques to support efficient mechanical assembly.
- Assemble and install black iron and exhaust tubing as part of generator packaging and related systems.
- Use basic hand tools, including wrenches, ratchets, and screwdrivers, to perform mechanical assembly tasks.
- Apply knowledge of single-phase and three-phase power systems and basic DC control systems during assembly.
- Follow basic electrical codes and good wiring practices when performing wiring and electrical connections.
- Perform pipe fitting and threading tasks to support generator packaging and related installations.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic cutters and crimpers safely and effectively.
- Read, interpret, and work from specifications, blueprints, and written work instructions to complete assignments accurately.
- Solve basic mathematical equations to support measurements, layouts, and assembly work.
- Operate forklifts safely and effectively to move materials, tanks, and enclosures as required.
- Use rigging skills to safely lift, move, and position heavy components and assemblies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
- Identify and report any issues, defects, or safety concerns related to equipment, materials, or processes.
Essential Skills
- Good understanding of mechanical setup techniques in a production or assembly environment.
- Experience working with black iron and exhaust tubing in mechanical or generator-related applications.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools, including wrenches, ratchets, and screwdrivers.
- Comprehension of single-phase and three-phase power systems and basic DC control systems.
- Familiarity with basic electrical codes and good wiring practices.
- Pipe fitting and threading skills for installation and assembly work.
- Fluency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic cutters and crimpers.
- Ability to solve basic mathematical equations to support measurements and layouts.
- Ability to interpret and fabricate from specifications, blueprints, or work instructions.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and effectively.
- Rigging skills for safely lifting and positioning heavy components.
- Five years of commercial generator experience and/or training in an electrical or mechanical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Background in electrical and mechanical fields, including exposure to generator systems.
- Experience with mechanical assembly in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Comfort working with both mechanical and basic electrical tasks in a single role.
- Willingness to participate in training and upskilling programs provided by the company.
- Ability to work extended hours or additional time as needed based on production requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Work Environment
This position is primarily outdoors in a yard environment, where you will be exposed to sun, heat, cold, and other weather elements. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some additional hours potentially required depending on production needs. The work involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, hydraulic cutters and crimpers, forklifts, and rigging equipment. You will work in a hands-on, industrial setting that emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliable production output.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
