Area Director of Sales
- Solicit, negotiate, and book both new and repeat business
- Actively sell room nights through outside sales calls, telemarketing, site tours, etc.
- Direct, train, coordinate and supervise the Sales Managers Coordinators in all sales-related activities
- Meet or exceed budgeted REVPAR for the hotel
- Prepare hotel's annual marketing and sales plan based on the hotel's position and strengths within each market segment
- Forecasts occupancy fluctuations based on changing market conditions and directs selling activities to maximize revenue
- Ensure that team members (specifically front desk staff) are familiar with key accounts and "specifics" relating to business booked in the hotel
- Experience using Hotel Sales Force Automation (Delphi, STS, etc.) is a plus
- Experience with Lighthouse and ProfitSword platforms is highly desired
- Must possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and/or hotel guests
- Know the hotel's demand segments, sources of business for each and balances market segments according to supply and demand
- Knowledge of the principle competition for each market segment
- Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
- Ability to work well in stressful situations
- Valid Driver's License required
