Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a full-time Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students, serving grades K-12 within a school setting. This contract position covers the uping school year and requires dedication to supporting a diverse student population with varying ages and needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to ensure inclusive learning environments.
• Utilize appropriate munication methods and assistive technologies to facilitate student learning.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with specialization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
• Experience working with K-12 students across mixed age groups and abilities.
• Strong understanding of munication techniques and acmodations for DHH students.
• Ability to manage caseload effectively; specifics to be discussed during the interview.

Location: Sumter County, Florida
